Let’s Start Again Shall We?

Let’s Start Again Shall We?

This is only a writing exercise. One to help me strengthen my bond with both the written word and you, my reader. See I’ve slacked off a bit recently, and for good reason. That’s something I won’t go into right now as I have more important things to focus on. This isn’t about my illness or what is gnawing at my sanity. Instead I want to just talk about one thing:

Schizophrenic Mind Part 4

Schizophrenic Mind Part 4

Possession             The mind is a powerful thing. With a wave of chemicals it can connect us to the world around us. You feel the wind rush past your skin and your brain tells you it’s real. But what happens when these chemicals go rogue and your mind starts...

The roar of the TV and his family’s laughter were white noise in Steven’s ears as his brain was transfixed  on the latest box car children’s book he had picked up from the library, along with a stack of other books he would invariably have finished by the end of the week. His body hanging upside down off the couch was somehow the most comfortable position he could find in the house. He flipped the last page disappointed that the story was done. He sat himself back up, feeling the blood rush back down.

Dreams

Dreams

Dreams        I love this idea that our bodies enter a state of rest where we shut out the outside world, and can create an imaginary world that only we get the chance to entering. And we aren't the only ones on the planet that get to experience them. these precious...

We know there are species that can survive the cold emptiness of space. We have studied animals and microorganisms thriving around thermal vents at the bottom of the ocean and bacteria living amongst the clouds. Yet for all our efforts only one planet has been found to support the complexities of life.
